A Short History

The Caribbean and African Community Health Support Forum (CACHSF) was formed in May 2010. Our objectives are to address the health and wellbeing issues which impact disproportionately on the Caribbean and African community living in Suffolk. We achieve this by engaging and enabling people from these communities to access/receive culturally appropriate health and wellbeing information via targeted initiatives such as health seminars, health awareness courses, projects and community events. The work of the CACHSF was initially funded via a grant from the Department of Public Health (Suffolk) from 2011 to 2014 as part of its Healthy Living Project initiative.

CACHSF is now a registered charity, but the financial support we once received from our main funder (NHS Suffolk Department of Public Health), has now ceased. However, our long term aim is to continue to build upon all the good work that CACHSF has initiated and delivered over the last five years.
